Many people are working from home, and it is becoming increasingly harder to go out to the nearest fitness centre. The following events and activities can be undertaken remotely from anywhere with a reliable Internet connection.
Plan B – Virtual Race
This virtual challenge offers anyone anywhere in the world the chance to participate in a series of challenges that include 25km, 50km, 75km, 100km, 150km and 200km distances. This initiative is all about raising funds for the World Health Organisation.
This virtual race was launched in mid-March 2020 as a means to exercise safely during the Coronavirus pandemic. This helps runners to prepare for spring and winter races. The initiative has had more than 1,200 entries so far, and it has raised more than £10,000 in its opening week alone.
Under Armour Turf Games – Home Games
The Under Armour Turf Games is hosted virtually and provides fun for everyone. Participants get a chance to win some real cash prizes sponsored by the brands Under Armour and Optimum Nutrition.
Turf Games helps people to achieve the ultimate home workout with its launch of Home Games. This offers everyone involved a chance to win and log their scores on the virtual leaderboard. Participants can do it all in the comfort of their own homes.
Strava X Lululemon
Lululemon ambassadors provide athletes and other fitness enthusiasts with new ways to keep themselves moving while staying connected and safe. The event features a line-up of cycling, running, cycling, and virtual 5km race events. The famed Strava app has teamed up with Lululemon to reward Strava members with a shiny badge and a post-challenge benefit for being 20-minutes active daily for five days a week during a 4-week period.
The F45 App
The F45 Challenge app is an initiative that seeks to promote home-based training. They encourage people going through quarantine to stay active over a period of 45 days to achieve their health and fitness goals in the safety and comfort of their own homes. Participants can access meal plan recipes and equipment-free workouts via the F45 app or the website.
If these activities and events sound a little hectic, you can get your friends together and do some workouts at home by watching a recording of a fitness program together.
